James C. Hovey spent his childhood in Centreville at the end of the last century. By 1913 he was a supervisor of roads for the Province of New Brunswick Department of Public Works in the Parish of Northampton, near Woodstock. According to the documents included in this collection, it appears that he was a supervisor until the early 1930’s.
James Hovey was also a shareholder and promoter of the Cobbler Sexton Mining Co. Ltd. The company was operating a copper mine in Northampton at the beginning of the century.
He died in 1963.
